美國帳戶超過３年沒使用 直接被消失

 

以前在紐約工作時有開了一個 TD Bank 帳戶
當時決定要搬回台灣時
想說未來或許還會用到，於是就留著...

沒想到
一開始帳戶餘額不足，每個月都被扣錢
補足帳戶餘額後，我就安心地把它擺著
超過 3 年都沒有再登入網銀或使用金融卡

2024 年初
我在台灣心血來潮想來看看我的 TD Bank 帳戶
打開網銀想要登入
卻跳出「It appears you don't have any accounts to display.」
於是趕緊寄信到客服信箱
但過了一天無消無息
我就嘗試用 TD 粉專傳訊息
結果對方有回覆（超開心）
回覆如下
「Thanks for waiting. For the security of your account, we encourage you to not send
account numbers or debit card details through social media. I'd like to escalate this to my
Leadership Team for further review. As you've already provided your first and last name,
as well as contact phone number I can start the process. Once escalated, someone will
contact you within 24-48 hours. I'll update you shortly with your escalation ID number.」
接著我一直沒順利接到他們打來的越洋電話ＱＱ
他們後來有寄信跟我確認可以通電話的時間
通話過後，我才知道我的帳戶已經被關閉
錢已經移轉到州政府的無人認領財產裡
所以我要自己去跟州政府認領回來

美國帳戶餘額移轉至州政府無人認領財產 認領步驟全紀錄

 

我照著州政府無人認領財產的指示一步步做
並將填好的資料拿去給公證人認證（2024/10/1 花台幣 750 元）
再將文件資料透過中華郵政郵寄給美國州政府
過了大約一個月後收到電子郵件如下（重點訊息我用紅字呈現）

再過了大約兩個月，收到電子郵件如下，請我要提供 W-8BEN 表

o complete and return form W-8BEN "Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for

Your claim can't be processed without the completion of this form in its entirety. Return

身分證英文翻譯寄出不到一個月
5 月 22 日我終於收到州政府的支票！！！

美國州政府支票成功寄到台灣 光票託收銀行卻不喜歡辦理

 

我興奮帶著支票跑了中國信託、富邦銀行、台新銀行
但是，每一家銀行
都以沒在收、手續費很貴、去主要往來銀行、要掛理專等等理由打發我

我才知道【光票託收】這麼難！

順便插播我當時整理的光票託收資訊

富邦銀行
票面金額收 0.1% 手續費（最少台幣 500，最多 1000）+郵費台幣1000
美國那邊會再扣 350 美元

台灣銀行
票面金額收手續費 0.05%（最少台幣 200-800）+郵費台幣 300
美國那邊會再扣 250 美元

中國信託
手續費台幣 700+400（詳細數字我忘了）
美國那邊會再扣 250 美元

支票有期限 180 天
我只能不斷去自己原本就有的美金帳戶銀行嘗試光票託收

6 月 4 日我幸運在永豐銀行遇到剛入職、正在學習的行員
菜鳥(傻傻)先問了一位附近的老鳥
然後他們就開始幫我辦理光票託收了

後來他們二位都被負責外匯存匯業務的人唸XD
唸說以後遇到這種情況不能馬上答應
因為怎樣怎樣怎樣...

我一邊慶幸終於能把支票兌現
一邊偷笑還好有遇到這種情況
否則我不知道還要被拒絕多少次
而且大家都說是第一次看到這種票（大概也很害怕是詐騙吧）

過了大約一個月
7 月 10 日我成功收到消失多年的美元了！

我除了支付永豐銀行共台幣 1350 元手續費以外
我的支票面額沒有再被扣錢
（當初他們說台灣所有的銀行現在做光票託收都透過富國
因此至少會收取 100 美元手續費）

這場耗費心力的無人認領財產贖回記，劇終。
